Smart lighting 'control computer' replacement

#1

Most of my house lighting runs on 3W LED’s. These are all connected back to a ‘switchboard’ with FETs driving them from a single power supply through CAT 5e cabling at 24v. All switches are similarly connected back to this ‘switchboard’ via CAT 5e. Switches and rotory encoders for PWM dimming.

The LEDs are failing (it’s the soldering to the boards that’s the problem). The company that made the ‘control computer’ has gone out of business so I’d like to replace it with something that I can control and develop myself.

Initially, I’d like to replace the ‘control computer’ with something but don’t want to rewire the whole house!

Is OpenHab and the MK-SmartHouse the way to go?

Any suggestions as to where to start?
