Blinds connected, but socket error

#1

I’ve almost had enough of setting these blinds up. I regret trying OH as it really was not straight forward. HA has been better, but I ran into this issue when I added one of the blinds control:

1557372709: New client connected from 192.xxx.x.xxx as Living Room 1 (c1, k10).
1557372709: Socket error on client Living Room 1, disconnecting.

What am I doing wrong? I watched the video and the only step I was unable to follow was editing the configuration file because it only had this information in it:

{
“dirsfirst”: false,
“enforce_basepath”: false,
“ignore_pattern”: [
pycache
]
}

Also, I added two blinds, is there no way to control them individually? If not, I’ll go back and try to use OH again. My Raspberry Pi is connected via Wifi as I want to save my ethernet ports for other items (I already have 15 items connected via ethernet). I’ve spent 4 nights trying to set this up, it really shouldn’t be that hard.

This sounds like an MQTT error. I use HA, but check out these two links to see if they shed any light.

Sorry I cannot provide more specific OH help but I have seen posts about MQTT and OH 2.4 and know that this has been an issue, or at least a point of confusion.
